Quasi Interactive Videos

Webinar with Peter C. M. Burton

Monday, April 13 at 13:00 UTC

A series of Quasi Interactive Videos (QIV) which are educational videos addressing a wide range of topics in Electronics has been produced. So far there are 128 Videos with each averaging 10 minutes.

QIV involves producing video segments that are not merely recorded or filmed but are meticulously constructed and produced in a manner that makes the student feel that she or he is actively engaging with the presenter. They are designed for a Gen Y audience, who expect elements of fun to be imbedded in the visual educational material. Each vignette is limited to ten to fifteen minutes, to optimise student engagement. A significant degree of navigational freedom is offered through the menu and presentation.

This presentation focuses on what has been determined to be a very effective teaching and learning tool – quasi interactive videos.
