James Tangorra

Dr. James Tangorra is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics Department at Drexel University. He holds a B.S. and M. Eng. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University and a Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research focuses on the integration of sensing, mechanics, and control in animal locomotor systems and on the design of systems that aid human performance. Dr. Tangorra served in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve for 16 years prior to entering academia. He is currently Director of the Peace Engineering Graduate Program at Drexel University.
