Gudrun Kammasch

Gudrun Kammasch, Professor of Food Chemistry and Analysis in Food Technology from Beuth Hochschule für Technik Berlin (UAS), is president of IPW e.V. Ingenieur-Pädagogische Wissenschaftsgesellschaft – , a founder member of IGIP, International Society for Engineering Education, and also a member of the German UNESCO Committee and head of the scientific board of the Berliner Zentrum für Hochschullehre.

She has over 35 years teaching experience in food and packaging chemistry and analysis with comprehensive lab education, in nutrition sciences and in general subjects as “sustainability” and “women in technical careers”. She has delivered workshops on lab didactics in Europe and other continents and worked as consultant in the curriculum reform in Ethiopia and Central Asia for over 11 years. She is the author of numerous papers and book chapters and has edited several  proceedings of international conferences in engineering education.

For almost 20 years she organised the integration of international students at her university. In her academic career she held the position of vice president of the university, vice dean and dean, member of the “Akademischer Senat” etc.

Dr. Kammasch studied Chemistry and Food Chemistry at Philipps-Universität Marburg and Technische Universität Berlin and has a Dr. rer. nat. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Freie Universität Berlin. In July 2010 Dr. Kammasch received the award “Bundesverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse” from the president of the FRG – especially for her engagement in implementing the “dialogue of the cultures of the world” as well as improving the situation of women in technical studies and professions  – industrial and academic careers.
