GEDC Industry Forum ‘Dynamic Dialogue’ Webinar

Webinar with Moderator, Dr.Ishwar K. Puri and Keynote Speaker, Michael O’Neill, on December 9th at 8:00am EST

This webinar is the first of a series of ‘Dynamic Dialogue’ sessions designed to explore further the themes discussed at this year’s GEDC Industry Forum. The 2020 Forum was hosted online by the Faculty of Engineering, McMaster University, Canada together with the Global Engineering Deans Council and Petrus from 28th September to 1st October.

The GEDC Industry Forum leverages collective knowledge and experience, developing an influential, meaningful dialogue among participants. From socially conscious engineering and ethics to micro credentials, virtual labs and open innovation, the content and ideas that emerge from the event address the most important and compelling issues of our time.

This webinar will focus on ‘Corporate learning, alternative and complementary certification’ and build on the insights shared by GEDC Industry Forum participants who tackled the question below:

How do we incorporate alternative and complementary certification or credentialing approaches into existing degree programs, or come up with completely different pathways? For example, how do we give credit for experiential learning at university, how can we ensure the recognition of company-issued certifications, and how could industry, partners and educators work better together to retrain or upskill professional engineers outside of degree programs?
