GEDC 2019 Santiago

October 20, 2019 - October 23, 2019

From October 20 to 23, 2019, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) will host the GEDC’s first stand-alone conference in South America. Juan Carlos de la Llera Martin, longtime GEDC member who serves as the Dean of PUC’s Faculty of Engineering, spearheaded the bidding process.

The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) was founded in Santiago on June 21, 1888 under the initiative of the Archbishop of Santiago, Monsignor Mariano Casanova, with the aim of being an institution that integrates academic excellence and a formation inspired by Christian doctrine. The university had a great impact in Chile and plays a relevant public role in all aspects of society.

According to the 2018 QS ranking, PUC is number one in Latin America and 137th worldwide. The Faculty of Engineering was established in 1892 with a focus in Civil Engineering and just 30 students. Today, the Faculty’s 5,550 account for approximately 20% of the university’s entire student body and 13 disciplines in the Faculty of Engineering and another school dedicated to engineering for civil construction.

GEDC 2019 Santiago is planned for October 20-23, 2019 in Chile. More conference details will be published after WEEF-GEDC 2018 Albuquerque.
